Susan L Fisher

Having attended MUN and a university in the US, Susan received her BA in Sociology and Criminology in 1986. She earned her LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick in 1989, receiving an award in Ethics. After articling and working for two years in Toronto, she returned home to an article in St. John’s, NL. She opened her firm in 1993, Susan L. Fisher Law Office, which she operated in Paradise until the end of 2021. She formed a new firm, Avalon Law Group, with Johnathan Earle on January 1, 2022. During the years of her sole practice, Susan was a Board Member for Choices for Youth as well as the Mt. Pearl/Paradise Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the School Council at Paradise Elementary and has provided legal services to the Legal Clinic at The Gathering Place. She has appeared in all levels of Court in Newfoundland, Labrador, and the Human Rights Commission. She is also a long-standing Public Legal Information Association of Newfoundland and Labrador member.

For over 30 years, Susan has practiced primarily in Family Law, Real Estate, and Wills and Estate.

Susan’s personal interests include her family (she cares for them with her love of cooking, baking, and all things “foodie”), her love of dogs (she has had Reese, her Bernese Mountain Dog, for 10 years and now Bailey, her Havanese of 6 years, who is part of our office team and provides much joy and comfort to staff and clients alike), travelling, the arts, swimming, and gardening.

This new firm has provided Susan with the opportunity and vitality to continue working in her chosen field for many more years to come, serving the people of her community and province.
